CAPTAIN MANTELL \u2013 <\/span><\/strong>HUMAN OR NOT<\/strong> <\/span><\/em>PRESS KIT<\/span><\/p>\n CAPTAIN MANTELL<\/span><\/strong> is a project that has been exploring the boundary between rock and electronic music for nearly twenty years, With its seventh album, <\/span>HUMAN OR NOT<\/span><\/em>, Captain Mantell pushes this research into a more radical and contemporary direction. Side A<\/span><\/strong> features songs performed and produced by human musicians, rooted in the project\u2019s established language: a balance between rock and electronics, physical energy and melodic focus. Artificial intelligence is not used as a replacement tool, but as a <\/span>distorting lens<\/span><\/strong>: a presence that observes human music from a non-human point of view and recomposes it according to different, sometimes coherent, sometimes unpredictable logics. Not a competition between human and machine, but a dialogue that questions form, control and authorship.<\/span><\/p>\n The lyrics of <\/span>HUMAN OR NOT<\/span><\/strong> explore unstable identities, screen-mediated realities, non-human presences, technology, alienation, and the desire for connection. Balancing irony and unease, the songs portray a present in which the boundary between what is human and what is no<\/span>t<\/span> becomes increasingly thin. <\/span><\/p>\n This dualism is also reflected in the project\u2019s visual identity, curated by <\/span>eeviac<\/span><\/strong>. Two colors \u2014 red and blue \u2014 represent the human and artificial components respectively. The images overlap but can only be read separately through <\/span>red\/blue 3D glasses<\/span><\/strong>, included inside the vinyl package, suggesting a double reality in which the two dimensions coexist without ever fully merging.<\/span><\/p>\n Live, <\/span>HUMAN OR NOT<\/span><\/em> can take two complementary forms: a full band concert or an electronic live set, adapting to different contexts while maintaining strong conceptual coherence.<\/span><\/p>\n HUMAN OR NOT<\/span><\/em> is both a record and an experiment on the present, using the language of rock and electronic music to question how music is created, transformed and perceived today.

\n<\/span>The record takes shape as a <\/span>vinyl conceived as a conceptual object<\/span><\/strong>, where the two sides mirror and distort the same musical material.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n<\/span>Side B<\/span><\/strong> uses the same tracks as raw material, reworked through artificial intelligence tools and transformed into experimental electronic remixes \u2014 more unstable, nocturnal and club-oriented.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nThe album will be released <\/span>in vinyl format in spring 2026<\/span><\/strong>, via <\/span>Overdrive Records<\/span><\/strong> and <\/span>Go Down Records<\/span><\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
